Choir III: Cantabile
(Singers in Grades 6 may be invited based on skill, vocal proficiency, and maturity.
Choir III is the advanced ensemble of the award-winning treble choirs of the Bach Children's Chorus. Participants are expected to have a strong musical background through the choir program (or another strong program) and will sing a wide variety (and a large quantity!) of choral music including a capella and accompanied pieces in 3 or more parts. Participation in the Sight-Singing program is mandatory and built into the rehearsals. Small weekly homework assignments are expected to keep each singer building skill and confidence. Choir III emphasizes performance excellence through choral music. Choir III meets for 2.5 hours each week from September through early December and January through mid-May.
