Charissa Bagan

Artistic Director

Charissa Bagan is the Artistic Director of the Bach Children’s Chorus (BCC) and a lecturer in Music Theory and Voice at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson) School of Performance. She serves as Secretary on the Choirs Ontario Board of Directors and is active in volunteering for provincial and national choral projects including PODIUM 2022. Charissa recently completed a micro-certification from OCAD University in video post production, assisting many choirs across Canada with their online presentations including creating choral videos for the University of Toronto Treble Choir, One World Baroque, Exultate Chamber Singers, the University of Regina, and the Vancouver Bach Choir. A nominee for the 2018 Leslie Bell Prize for Choral Conducting, Charissa has been on the conducting staff at St. Michael’s Choir School in Toronto, Zezere Arts Festival in Portugal, and Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. She holds a master of music degree from the University of British Columbia following extensive musical studies at the University of Toronto and training in Arts & Cultural Management at Grant MacEwan University in Edmonton.
