About the program

Prep Choir is an auditioned group of singers in Grades 1-2 who demonstrate readiness to sing with solfege syllables (do-re-mi), match pitch, clap rhythms and sing a wide range of songs from classical to folk to pop. A range of Montessori-style music stations encourage independent exploration to complement the team-based music learning activities. Music theory and sight-reading concepts are incorporated into weekly lessons. Prep Choir also spends some rehearsals with Choir I to prepare joint repertoire for the December and May concerts. Our team of expert musician instructors are passionate about helping young people sing with joy, confidence and ease.
