Meredith Wanstall, Artistic Director

Meredith Wanstall (she/her) is passionate about helping choral singers of all ages improve their confidence through self-expression and musical skill-building. She has worked with many distinguished choral ensembles throughout her conducting career, including the Amadeus Choir of Greater Toronto, the Modern Sound Collective, the Ontario Youth Choir, and the Toronto Children’s Chorus. Meredith has earned a Master of Music (Choral Conducting) at Western University, a Bachelor of Music (Music Education) at the University of Toronto, and two ARCT diplomas at the Royal Conservatory of Music (Voice and Piano Performance). Additionally, she has completed two levels of Kodály Certification at Western University. Meredith has a long history with the Bach Children’s Chorus both as a past chorister and as a staff member, and is overjoyed to have a hand in inspiring the next generation of young musicians!

Carrie Loring, Kinder Choir & Prep Choir Conductor

Soprano Carrie Loring is best known as longtime host of TV Ontario’s Polka Dot Door. She toured coast to coast with numerous children’s shows involving singing, storytelling, mime, guitar and puppetry. Carrie received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto, and singing certificates from the Royal Conservatory of Music. She sings regularly with Tafelmusik, Choir 21, Soundstreams, Opera Atelier, The Tallis Choir, The Elmer Iseler Singers, and as a soprano lead in many Toronto churches. She has sung with the Elora Festival Singers, Toronto Consort, Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, The National Ballet of Canada, and Theatre of Early Music. She has performed as a voice-over artist and studio singer in television and film, and has sung on 26 CD recordings. Enjoying the challenge of singing in different styles, she has performed back-up vocals for Roger Hodgson (Supertramp) and performed in the cast of Sondheim in September. Her voice was heard on the TV series The Tudors and The Borgias, the films Something About Mary Magdalene and Flightpath; and on commercials for Apple and Ikea. Carrie teaches private lessons in voice and guitar. She has been working with the Bach Children’s Chorus since 2014.


Tasa Galarneau, Rehearsal Assistant - Choirs II & III

Tasa Galarneau is an alumni of the BCC, with 10 years of choral experience. She has been part of numerous musical opportunities with the BCC such as performing at the Toronto Christmas Market, Roy Thomson Hall, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio, and more. She has also taken part in special projects with smaller ensembles within the choir including recording background vocals for a video game and performing with a small ensemble at the wedding of a BCC alumni. Choir had been part of Tasa's life since she can remember, and she is grateful for the opportunity to be part of the the BCC team, where she can help choristers along their musical journey!

Elizabeth Gilerovitch, Assistant Conductor - Kinder Choir and Prep Choir

Elizabeth is a Classical vocalist and pianist. She took part in numerous music festivals, competitions, charity concerts, and recitals. Numerous times she has been awarded for her accomplishments in both piano and vocal performances.

Elizabeth graduated from The Phil and Eli Taylor Performance Academy for Young Artists, Senior Voice program and Etobicoke School of the Arts, Music Theatre program in 2022. She completed her RCM ARCT in piano performance, and she has numerous years of collaborative piano experience, performing with strings and voice musicians. Elizabeth is currently pursuing her Bachelor degree at the University of Toronto, studying Classical Voice Performance.

Karen Hu, Assistant Conductor - Choir I

Karen Hu is a music educator, choral conductor, and soprano based in Milton, Ontario. They recently completed a Bachelor of Music with Honours in Voice Performance at Western University.

As an avid choral artist, Karen has performed in various choral ensembles across the country including the Western University Singers, the Ontario Youth Choir, the Ellison Canadian Honour Choir, and Modern Sound Collective’s Frisson. In addition to their role within the community, Karen currently serves on Choral Canada’s Student Chapter Executive Committee. Karen is the recipient of the Ken Fleet Choral Conducting Scholarship (2025) and Deral Johnson Legacy Award in Choral Music Conducting (2023) and holds Kodály Certifications from Western University. As a conductor, Karen has previously participated in Exultate Chamber Singers’ apprentice conductor program, been the assistant conductor of the Karen Schuessler Singers, and co-conductor of the Student Leadership Choral Collective at Western University. Karen is also the co-creator of The Choral Collection.

Maeve MacKinnon, Rehearsal Assistant - Kinder and Prep Choirs

Maeve MacKinnon is an interdisciplinary artist from Whitby, Ontario. She is a graduate of NSCAD University in Nova Scotia, and is a former BCC chorister herself. Maeve is currently a member of the Toronto Mendelssohn choir and has had several years of musical instruction through choir experience and voice lessons. She is thrilled to join the assistant staff with BCC this season!

Dean Milligan, Rehearsal Assistant - Choir I

Dean Milligan is a proud BCC alumnus, and was a chorister for 9 years. He has participated in numerous BCC events, including Opera Atelier’s production of Dido and Aeneas, and a week-long tour of Nova Scotia. He enjoys musical theatre and improv, and has performed in his school’s annual musical. Additionally, he has participated in the Canadian Improv Games and performed in the Second City’s teen ensemble. Outside of the arts, Dean works with local youth advocacy groups as an activist and engaged community member, and is interested in social justice. He is passionate about music and the performing arts, and is thrilled to be working with the BCC team to help maintain a positive and productive experience for all choristers.

Celeste Thordarson, Assistant Conductor - Choir II

Celeste Thordarson, a Soprano and Music Education Specialist, graduated from the University of Toronto with a major in Music Education and a certificate in Health Applications in Music. Passionate about Choral Studies, Vocal Pedagogy, and Music Health, she serves as Music Director at Annunciation BVM Parish, conducts both children’s and adult choirs, and is Associate Conductor with the Mississauga Festival Youth Choir. She is also a private voice teacher and a Choir Teacher with the Gryphon Trio’s Listen Up Program.

Celeste has experience with the Toronto Children’s Chorus, as Assistant Conductor with VIVA Youth Singers, and as a Choir Teacher with Sistema Toronto. In Spring 2024, she was unanimously selected as the Apprentice Conductor with Exultate Chamber Singers, leading a high-level amateur chamber choir in rehearsal and performance. She also serves as Advocacy Representative at Choral Canada’s Student Chapter Executive Committee and Office Manager with COSA Canada. Celeste is the recipient of the 2024 Ken Fleet Choral Conducting Scholarship from the London Community Foundation and is committed to inspiring others through choral education.

Amanda Singh, Theory & Sight-Singing Coordinator

Amanda Singh is a Toronto-based vocalist and private lessons teacher, who from a young age, had a passion for all types of music. This eventually led her to complete a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Classical Voice from York University as well as a Masters in Vocal Performance from the University of Toronto.

While pursing these studies, she stayed an active member of several choral communities including the Bach Chamber Youth Choir. She then went on to perform professionally with RESOUND choir and the Amadeus Choir of Greater Toronto. In addition to performing, Amanda was also the Choir coordinator for both the Amadeus Choir and the Ontario Youth choir.

Joshua Sutherland, Assistant Conductor

Joshua Sutherland is a passionate choral musician hailing from Whitby, Ontario. For Joshua, group singing embodies community and the collaborative spirit, and he enjoys working in various choral leadership positions across the GTA as both a conductor and singer. Joshua was an Intern Conductor with Modern Sound Collective throughout the 2025-2025 season, and he looks forward to taking on the role of Intern Conductor with the Ontario Youth Choir in August of 2025. He currently sings a Sidgwick Scholar with the Orpheus Choir of Toronto, and is a tenor section lead at Timothy Eaton Memorial Church.

In recent years, Joshua has sung with various ensembles throughout Southern Ontario, including the Elmer Iseler Singers, Concreamus Chamber Choir, and RESOUND Choir. In 2022, Joshua was a vocal artist in the inaugural Elora Festival Summer Program, where he sang alongside the Elora Singers in Bach’s Mass in B Minor. As a graduate of the Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance program at Western University, where he made his operatic role debut as Bardolfo in Verdi’s ‘Falstaff,’ and participated in a conducting masterclass with the Canadian Chamber Choir.

Georgia Wang, Pianist - Choir I

Pianist Georgia KuiYu Wang graduated in May 2023 with her BM in Piano Performance from the Mason Gross School of the Arts and is now an ADP student at the Glenn Gould School on a full-ride scholarship. At MGSA, she received the Elizabeth Wyckoff Durham Award (2023) and The Presser Foundation Undergraduate Award (2022), recognizing her academic and musical achievements. Prior to that, she obtained her ARCT Diploma (2017) and was a national finalist in the 2017 and 2019 Canadian Music Competitions. She is deeply influenced by her teachers Henri-Paul Sicsic and John Perry. Away from the piano, Georgia also makes visual artworks and is an author of poetry book “Going and Being”. Her artwork was featured in an art showcase in summer 2024, and in the Vancouver Visual Arts Foundations' Art Downtown visual arts exhibition in summer 2023.

Nicholas Wanstall, Pianist - Choirs II, III & LVE

Nicholas Wanstall began taking piano lessons at a very young age with his grandmother, Arden Broadhurst. At age 12, he began his studies at St. Michael's Choir School where he developed a love for and knowledge of sacred choral repertoire and the pipe organ. Continuing his musical studies at the University of Toronto, Nicholas received a Bachelor's of Music in Organ Performance with a minor in Composition. He currently works as an accompanist for Young Voices Toronto, the Bach Children’s Chorus, the Modern Sound Collective, and as a freelance composer/arranger. Find out more at nicholaswanstall.com


Liz Kochummen, Choir Manager

Liz completed her business degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and spent two decades with the provincial government. She eventually transitioned from corporate life to self-employment to pursue her interest in event management. Beyond her professional endeavors, Liz has served as keyboardist and choir leader for the past 20 years at her church in Stouffville. She founded Canada’s first ecumenical south-Indian Christian youth choir with 100 vocalists, the Century Choir, and its affiliate, the Century Singers, releasing original compositions and nurturing emerging talent in Toronto. Liz leads the children’s piano program and piano camp for the City of Markham, and enjoyings singing with the Markham Village Voices Choir. She lives in her childhood hometown of Markham with her husband, teenage son and a very mischievous puppy named Nyla.

Larisa Trabulsi, Director of Operations

Larisa is a busy mom of four. She has been a Bach Children’s Chorus parent since 2009; her eldest daughter was a chorister for six years, from 2009 to 2015, and her youngest daughter was a chorister for eight years, from 2017 to 2025. She is an accountant and the former Treasurer of her son’s swim club, the Manager of her daughter’s basketball team and an active member of her children's school councils. Larisa was the Group Organizer for the Experiences Canada Exchange with the Annapolis Valley Honour Choir and she joined the BCC team in 2023 as the Director of Operations.
